Music?

Everybody loves music. Or they should at least. Music is the heart and soul of life (after fanfiction, of course), and is what brings many different people together.

I myself have always been a great fan of old rocks music like The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, though I am also a fan of many other genres within the Rock Category.

Lately, I've been getting into Gothic Metal. You know, bands like Nightwish, Epica and Kamelot. I don't know why, but that combination of heavy metal riffs with classical influences and operatic vocals makes me want to sing.

Speaking of which, it's a very good thing I resist that urge because my voice can shatter glass. I'm not kidding. I suck at singing.

What kind of music do you guys like?

Favorite Pairings

Everybody has their favorite pairings for their favorite characters in various anime, books, manga, television series, movies and videogames. I myself have several, some of which are so strongly ingrained into me that I can't stand seeing these characters with anyone but each other.

I will admit, that a part of the reason I first started reading fanfiction was to read stories where specific couples got together because I was dissatisfied with how some of the anime I loved watching ended. Sometimes it was just that the endings were very ambiguous and the characters didn't seem to be any closer at the end than they were at the beginning, other times the characters I wanted to get together didn't get together at all. Fanfiction became my way of reading about these couples getting together.

I will also admit to being a shipper. I will only read a certain fanfiction with a certain pairing or pairings. A good example is Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny. I cannot read a fanfiction where Kira and Lacus do not get together. I just can't. It's the same for a few other pairings as well.

Because I didn't have anything better to speak about, I have decided to write a list of couples who I feel just can't be broken apart:

Kira X Lacus
Link X Zelda
Victoria X Kujo
Edward Elric X Winry
Kazuma X Ayano
Asuna X Kirito

Well, it't not as large as I originally thought it was. These are just the couples I don't really like seeing with anyone else. Other pairings I can usually deal with. Like Naruto. I don't mind seeing him paired with any girl so long as their names are not Sakura or Hinata. Same with Harry Potter. I can read a story where he is paired with just about anyone (female) so long as they are not Ginny Weasley or Hermione Granger.

Are their any couples you guys can't stand to see broken apart?

A few more questions to answer

A guest reviewer asked me an interesting question for chapter 12 the other day. He/She wrote:

"I've never done any of those incredible feats mentioned in those stories," one Harry James Potter told the Daily Prophet in an exclusive interview. "In fact, I've never been out of the country before. After the Dark Lord's attack on my parents, I was removed from the magical community and given to my mother's muggle sister to care for me. Until I turned 11, I didn't even know magic was real."

I don't get why he would give statement like that in interview. I thought he was trying to win people Lord Greengrass and pureblood sections over. In this, he's telling, not only he has been living with muggles , he is also ignorant to their magical ways of life and traditions.

In their review. I say interesting because they bring up a good point, but one that, if you decided to think like a ninja, or Kakashi Hatake, and look underneath the underneath, you would be able to answer it yourself.

The reason Harry told them this was because that kind of information is something that would have come out eventually whether he wanted it to or not. In the first book, Harry had the advantage of anonymity, but with his entrance into the wizarding world that's no longer possible. Someone with the right amount of money, influence and political pull, like, say, Lucius Malfoy, could easily discover this information and use it against Harry, either as blackmail or to slander him and cast him in a bad light for trying to hide this fact from the magical community. By coming out and stating that he had lived with muggles and was ignorant of magic, he takes any advantage someone might have gained from him trying to hide this information away.

On the flipside, this will cause some of his support to waver, but it will be negligible at best. This is because even if Harry was raised by muggles, he has still proven to those who matter that he is not ignorant of their world when he showed up at the New Year Gala.

In fact, they would be even more impressed by him because he apparently learned so much about their world after only being in it for six months. It shows he understands the importance of their traditions and laws and wants to be a positive influence.

There is also the simple fact that he is Harry Potter, The-Boy-Who-Lived and Heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter. Those two titles right there will mean people will follow him with a near sycophantic fanaticism no matter what.

I hope that answered your question. And now, I have a question for all of you. Do you guys think my Harry Potter is a Gary Stu? I'm curious because someone mentioned they could no longer read my story due to Harry being too perfect. I don't see it personally, but I'm also biased since I wrote the story. What do you guys think?

You know what's really annoying?

Just this morning when I was checking my inbox I found a message from some dude. For the sake of being polite I shall not name this person, or give you their penname, but they sent me an PM through FFN stating:

A response to your review at http://www.fanfiction.net/r/8896646/

You saw the description. You didn't have to read it, dumbass.

Now, I have no clue why this guy even bothered sending me this. The story I had reviewed that he was responding to wasn't even for a fanfic he wrote.

I don't know how many of you guys have done this, left a review that said something along the lines of 'this story was interesting, but not really for me' just so you could be polite and give them another review count to their chapter since you read the story and didn't want to leave them with nothing since they went through all that trouble writing it, only to receive a PM from a dude who did NOT write said story calling you a dumbass for deciding to try reading something different and realizing it wasn't for you, but it's one of the most annoying things I've come across. Even worse than trolls because at least they add to my review count. This dude was just wasting space in my inbox.

HP, Book 2, Chapter 13, Q&A

Yana5: No. That was the age I was when I first started 'checking out girls' as you call it. I don't see why someone who is a lot more mature than I was at that age and going through puberty wouldn't start looking at girls.

ElDani: That's because compared to people like Harry and Daphne, Tracey is very much a child. She's also the loudest and brashest one of the bunch. Unlike Susan who is shy, Neville who is under confident, Blaise who is quiet and observant, Hannah who is talkative but polite, Lisa who is for all intents and purposes normal, and Terry who often presents a small focal point to Tracey when arguing, she is the loudest and has the least amount of restraint when speaking. Don't worry though, she will eventually grow up, but right now, she's just a 12 year old kid. Try not to be too hard on her character because of that.

DarkPirateKing69, perses7x: That was the first and last time I will ever go into that much detail for an exercising regime. In fact, I would be surprised if I mentioned it anymore other than in passing. I only added it there because I wanted you, the reader, to know they would be doing it, and I wrote it in detail because I'm a detail oriented writer.

0 Jordino 0, Heart of Virgo: I read your reviews and agreed with them. I honestly didn't really think about just how big the Black Lake is. To be honest, since Rowling never mentioned how big it was, I never really thought about it. Anyways, I changed it to Susan completing 2, Daphne completing 1 1/2, Neville finishing 1 and Hermione doing about 1/2. Harry, of course, did 5, which I think is about good.

Tsun: The reason Susan didn't get a POV of her own was because it wasn't plot important. Daphne's thoughts actually contain a good deal of information on one of the many side plots running alongside the main story. Basically, it mentions her internal struggle between what her father wants vs. what she wants and gives a bit of information in her own internal struggle.

Edmond O'Donald: Actually it's 'Neville and I'. That's the proper English way of writing it. Harry Potter, as an incredibly intelligent and literate young man, would use proper grammer. Anyone else would have used 'Neville and me', but not Harry.

Dante 101: I will admit, I may have gone a little overboard on Harry's work out routine. I think a part of the reason is because I'm very religious when it comes to exercising. I go to the gym five days a week, Monday through Friday, every morning at exactly 4:00 am when the gym I have a membership to first opens. And I've been doing this for 6 years now. Exercise has literally been an integral part of my life and something that not only helps me stay in shape, but also makes me feel good after each work out. I have more energy, I'm happier and I'm just in general a better person to be around than if I didn't go to the gym. On top of that, I don't need caffeine to wake up (because exercise actually wakes people up by getting the blood flowing and releasing endorphins into the bloodstream), which means I save a ton of money on coffee and tea. So yeah, as you can see I'm a bit exercise obsessed.

By the way, I'm impartial to cheddar.

Concluding Statements: So here is something funny for you guys to read. I was looking through my reviews because, well, I needed to know who was asking questions for me to answer and what those questions were when I ran into an anonymous reviewer named Billy. I doubt this is his real name but whatever. Anyways, Billy wrote a review stating this:

"I'm unsubsrcibing from update alerts for this story. The pedophilia is to unrelenting, and I don't want to read it."

Now, I took 2 things away from this. The first was that he's a coward. He wrote that he was 'unsubscribing' in his review, meaning he has an account but chose not to use it to tell me this. Only a coward would write a review that could be taken badly by the author anonymously when they have an account.

For those of you who know me and those of you who don't, I will never get angry at you for stating an honest opinion so long as it's done in a respectful manner. If you tell me that you can't read my story anymore because it has something you don't like I'll be disappointed, but I'll understand. I won't get mad. I won't throw a hissy fit. I'm not that kind of guy.

The second thing I took away was his mention of pedophilia. Now, pedophilia is described as an adult (meaning 18 years or older), having a sexual interest in prepubescent children.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I was very sure that Harry is 12, meaning he is still a prepubescent child. That would mean that this story did not have any pedophilia, unless the laws have changed since I last looked them up, which admittedly was never. I'm not particularly enamored with the bodies of children so I wouldn't know.

Posted

Chapter 13 is posted. This chapter was more of what you would call a setting up chapter then anything else. Some might even feel it's a filler chapter, but I like to think it at least moved the plot a little. It has some reveals, a more in depth look into Daphne's psyche and thoughts and gives a little bit of foreshadowing for the next chapter.

One thing I know some of you will be happy about is the lack of dream sequence. While I do make mention of Harry having a wet dream, I don't have it in there. That's because by this point, Harry has already become inured towards having them. They no longer effect him like they used to, thus there purpose for pushing Harry's character development has disappeared. My mentioning of Harry's dream in this chapter was the last major mentioning of him having erotic dreams. I may occasionally make a comment here or there, but for the most part, that moment of puberty has now passed.

Thank the log. Oh, wait. This is Harry Potter. The Log doesn't exist.

Dammit!

Huuuuu~!

Alright, so, chapter 13 will be posted tomorrow. Something to be thankful for, I suppose.

Now, since I'm a bit at a loss of what to add here, I figured I would allow my curiosity to be satisfied. For those who know, you probably know that I'm a big shipper of Harry/Daphne thanks to her fanon personality. I also like Harry/Gabrielle due to the rarity of the pairing. But what do you guys like? What's your favorite pairing?

A Recent Review

This is actually in response to a recent review, one Valdimarian, who reviewed about possible pairings.

While I do not like giving away spoilers, I will confirm that, yes, Daphne Greengrass will be with Harry. Why? Because she's my favorite fanon pairing. I'm biased towards her like over half the HP fanon population is biased towards Harry/Hermione and another half absolutely despise Harry/Ginny. This is my favorite pairing, therefore, she will be one of Harry's girls.

All of the others are still up in the air though, and because I want to keep you guessing, I'm not going to say anything more.

That being said, I honestly have not ready the Curse's Cure since somewhere around chapter 30. To be frank, even though it's decently written, I don't really like the content. I remember that somewhere after chapter 30, dragon-raptor did a major defacing of the girl's he paired Harry with, destroying their character by making the girl's act like a bunch of sluts as a 'birthday present' for Harry. Now, I'm a male and I have male thoughts about women, but I also have a lot of respect for them and that chapter just turned me off. Also, seeing characters that I know I like pole dance and act like a hired hooker is painful for me, especially when the way he set up their character makes it blatantly obvious that they would never do this, ever.

Of course, that was just the straw that broke the cammals back for me. I've had issues reading his story since day one.

For those of you who don't already know, I am not a Harmony shipper. I hate the Harry/Hermione pairing even more than I hate Naruto/Hinata, and that's saying something.

Of course, hate is a very strong word. I don't hate Hermione and actually like her character, so perhaps a more accurate term would be to say that I find the Harmony pairing to be utterly repulsive to me. And yes, I do have my reason for this. Hermione reminds me of my sister, so reading about Hermione doing the horizontal mombo does not invoke images of Emma Watson, but of, well, my sister.

I'm sure you can see the problem here. And unlike a good deal of people on this site, I do not enjoy incest in any capacity. It doesn't help that when I read a story, I often picture myself in the place of the main character. Really, it just makes the whole situation that much worse.

I remember when I read the first sex scene in that story I actually vomited all over my computer. Took me hours to clean. Since then, I was pretty much forced to skim past every single Harmony moment in the story, lest my stomach feel queasy. And since almost every single scene in that story is Harmony related due to dragon-raptors biased to that pairing, I pretty much skipped the entire story and so decided it just wasn't worth reading anymore.

And on an unrelated note, does anyone like cheese?

Dun, dun, dun!

I know the title is really dramatic and everything, but unfortunately, as eye catching as the title to this post is, I don't have too much to say.

Life in Arizona is a rather boring existence unless you're living in a place where interesting things tend to happen. Unfortunately, where I live, nothing interesting ever happens so it's dreadfully dull. Basically, my day is as follows: Get up, go to the gym, go to work, hang out with friends or go home and write fanfiction after work depending on what I feel like doing. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. As I said, a boring existence.

I think the only differences in my routine are that I also apply to different jobs online as a Freelance writer. Of course, getting a job as a freelancer is difficult. I have only heard one response from the 32 companies I've emailed, and that company just emailed me to tell me that, while my work is good, I wasn't going to be hired because I lack experience in the field.

I found this funny because I don't know how I can get experience if people don't give me a job to gain said experience from. The only thing I've been able to do so far is post articles on free sites like Amazenes.com.

My lack of employ in the field I'm trying to get into aside, the most interesting event that will be happening here since Comicon won't happen until September 22nd. Don't know if any of you guys have ever listened to Kamelot, but they're one of my favorite bands and happen to be coming to Tempe.

If you want to listen to them, I've posted a music video of a song off their newest Album down below. Their sort of a dark band that mixes gothic metal with classical music, which I think is pretty awesome.

Chapter 13

Chapter 13 for the second book of my HP series is currently being written up. I suspect it will be done on time this week, same as every other week.

Now, since I do not have much to say, I thought an interesting video would be enough to keep you guys happy. It's an old video, one that for some reason I found myself watching again. Ladies and Gentlemen. May I present to you, Harry Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise!

Thoughts

I had a question for you guys. I was thinking about this recently, and have decided that I'm not very satisfied with my first HP series story, Harry Potter and the Gift of Memories. It has nothing to do with any reviews (I haven't even read the reviews that cropped up after I finished), and everything to do with how I don't feel I properly created the story.

I was thinking about going back to my first story at some point (probably after I finish the second book) and making it a bit better. I won't be changing any of the scenes I currently have in there, aside from fixing up my grammar, but I was thinking about doing memory sequences at the beginning of each chapter to show Harry's childhood. I thought I could really give the Gift of Memories part of my title more substance by showing Harry's past, such as when he was first able to use magic, how he treated the Dursleys, his desire to learn martial arts and his meeting with Lisa Crawft.

Would you guys like that?

Sekirei CH 27 Q&A

SkyCaptain502: First of all, you obviously don't know squat about Sekirei if you're saying... erm... writing something like that. Whenever the Ashikabi of a Sekirei dies, the Sekirei dies with them. That's common knowledge that was given to us near the beginning of both the manga and the anime. Secondly, Miya's husband, Asama Takehito, was NOT an Ashikabi. He did not have the genetics capable of winging a Sekirei (we learned this in some of the more recent chapters). Therefore, Miya was NEVER winged, which is the reason she did not shut down when Takehito died.

narutoDKurosaki: Actually, Musubi is simply naive, not dumb. Canon Naruto on the other hand, is one of the stupidest characters in a Shounen Jump manga. Only Monkey D. Luffy and Son Goku reach his level of dumb, and those two are at least strong enough where their stupidity doesn't matter.

Arthain: I think the main reason for those differences is Naruto's immortality. In your story, Naruto just finished having a war that took almost everything from him. Naturally, he's going to hold everything that much closer to his heart. My Naruto is jaded by thousands of years worth of failures and watching loved ones die over and over again throughout the ages. He's trying to keep himself from getting too attached but failing epicly because that's not the kind of person he is at heart.

As for a chapter with substance. I've got one more 'build up' chapter, as it were, and then it's going to be a more substancy arc.

There weren't that many questions or comments that I could answer or respond to today. I think that's because these passed few chapters are basically build up chapters before I the next arc.

Chapter will be up tomorrow

Yes, it is I, The Engulfing Silence formerly known as Pokemaster12 formerly known as That Guy, and I have something important to tell all of you!

Chapter 27 of Ashikabi no Shinobi will be up tomorrow. I know how excited you guys are for that. Rejoice! For the log has granted me the ability to write mass amounts of wordage in very little time, which is really the only reason you guys are getting so many chapters so quickly.

Do not question how the log grants this ability. It is not our right to question the log. All we can do is praise the log for the blessings it gives us.

On a side note, I was kinda hoping that last post I left would get a response. I thought it was really interesting news. Do you guys not like Star Wars?

Interesting Star Wars tidbit

Since I don't have much to say today, I thought I would let someone else speak for me. This article was taken from http://www.fashionnstyle.com/articles/8786/20130705/star-wars-episode-vii-2015-plot-spoilers-han-solo-princess-leia-married-daughter-love-triangle-speculation-continues-samuel-l-jackson-wants-role.htm and is about Star Wars, just in case the website link and large headline below didn't tell you that:

Star Wars Episode VII 2015 Plot, SPOILERS: Han Solo and Princess Leia Married With Daughter in Love Triangle? Speculation Continues, Samuel L. Jackson Wants Role

While fans are waiting for more real "Star Wars 7/VII" news, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that he wants to reprise his role while we speculate who the new characters will be along with Han Solo and Princess Leia relationship speculation.
According to Hypable.com, Jackson unveiled on the "Graham Norton Show" on BBC One in the United Kingdom that he'd reappear as Mace Windu in "Star Wars Episode VII" if he had his way.

"I want to be in 'Star Wars' now too, in J.J.'s 'Star Wars.' I mean, come on," Jackson said. "Jedi fall from incredible heights and a lot of them have lived with one hand. I think I could handle it."
Back in December, Jackson said, "I'm not surprised but totally geeked by the idea of there being more Star Wars. It's like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I'm dead and we'll find out what happened to Mace Windu."
"I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that's still around that didn't actually die," he added. "I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don't care. I just want to stay associated with the franchise. Not that I won't because I've been in three of them."
Recently, Bleeding Cool revealed the "first real casting breakdowns of characters" for the highly anticipated next "Star Wars" film. It includes seven characters with descriptions.

Han Solo has kids with Princess Leia in
Han Solo has kids with Princess Leia in "Star Wars Episode 7."

Now, here comes the speculation.
According to WhatCulture, the late-teen female who is independent, has a good sense of humor and fit could be Han Solo and Princess Leia's daughter.
"She'll be either a Jedi like Uncle Luke, a pilot like Dad, or a politician like Mom."
Then WhatCulture gave some evidence from the Expanded Universe.
"In the EU, Han and Leia have a kid named 'Jaina Solo.' She's a pilot-Jedi, and she's pretty cool, actually. At the moment she's the only surviving Solo kid, so she's pretty independent," the website said.
Princess Leia marries Han Solo?
Princess Leia marries Han Solo?

The young twenty-something male that's witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking could be her love interest.
Evidence from EU:
"Jaina Solo pretty recently married a politician/military type named Jag Fel," WhatCulture said. "He is, I think, traditionally good looking. But for a while she was in the middle of a love triangle with him and a Jedi named Zekk."
And the other late twentysomething male that's fit, handsome and confident could be Solo's daughter's other love interest.
Along the lines of Princess Leia and Han Solo, Carrie Fisher dished what she thought would happen in "Star Wars Episode 7."
"Han Solo and I have been unhappily married for many years," she explained at the Sydney Supanova pop culture expo. "And so we speak through the wookiees and use a translator."

gennastar -- Vampires

So, I'm really only answering this because of how you worded your review. There is something you should know about vampires in this story, and that is that pure-blood vampires are not dead. They are living, breathing vampires. I think I mentioned this before, but a pure-blood vampire is a vampire that was born of two vampires. Because of the magics involved in a pure-blood vampires birth, they are actually alive.

This isn't like that disgusting necrophilia shit you read in Twilight, where the vampires are essentially sparkly corpses. Think Rosario+Vampire if you want a good comparison to what a pure-blood is like here.

Something interesting

I was looking at my profile the other day. Why? I don't know. I guess I was bored. Anyways, when I was looking, I went down to where all my stories were kept and noticed something interesting.

I don't know how many people try to keep their word counts for all the chapters in their stories consistent, though I do know most people try to keep all the chapters for all their stories around the same amount of words. One thing I noticed about mine is that they don't. In fact, if you look at some of my stories, you'll notice some have ridiculously large word counts for how many chapters they have, while others are smaller.

A good example would be to compare Ashikabi no Shinobi with Gift of Memories. Ashikabi no Shinobi has over 400k words, and my chapters can be anywhere from 12,000 to 22,000 words. It also only has 26 chapters. Gift of Memories, on the other hand, has over 230k words, is only 30 chapters, and the chapter range is 4,500 to 12,000 words.

Of course, this is all pretty nonsensical and doesn't really mean much. I just thought I would share it with you.

To gennastar

This post is in response to gennastar, who reviewed chapter 7 and seems to be a little confused about Selene's roll in the story. In your reviewed you mentioned that Selene did not bring anything captivating to the story and asked me what made her useful.

While I understand where you are coming from, I think the reason you're so confused about Selene's roll is because you're not looking at the big picture. You're right, as of right now, Selene does not have much of a roll. In fact, after chapter 8, you won't see her again in this story. Her purpose here was only two fold.

First, I needed to introduce her character sometime before the end of Harry's 3rd year, where her purpose starts to become more important. Because of my plans for his 2nd year at Hogwarts and the summer before his 3rd year, the only feasible time I have to introduce Selene is the summer in between his 1st and 2nd year when he is studying under Nicolas Flamel. There was simply no other point in my story where I actually could introduce her.

The second reason is because vampires will have a strong roll to play in my story. In JK Rowlings books, she only ever mentions vampires in passing, and I think there was one vampire at Slughorns party in The Half Blood Prince, and yet Werewolves play a much more important roll in the story. It's like Rowling wanted to say 'yeah, vampires exist, but I don't want to go into details about them so I'm just not going to add them to my story' and left it at that. I want to actually give vampires, as well as a number of other magical creatures, a much more significant roll than what Rowling gave them. There is so much potential for these various magical creatures to play an important part in the Harry Potter universe, and I always felt it was a shame that Rowling never expanded on the various magical creatures like Vampires, Werewolves, Veela, Centaurs, Mermaids and other magical species.

Decision made

Since it's still my most popular Naruto story I have to date, I've decided to write a chapter of Ashikabi no Shinobi. I've already started writing it and have gotten a decent amount of words written. I'm hoping to be finished with the rough draft by Wednesday so I can get the final copy posted by Friday.

After that, I think I'm going to finish my Pain vs. Kumo arc for Namikaze's Return. It's on the last chapter of that arc so I might as well.

HP Chapter 12 Q&A

narutoDkurosaki: Well, I am sorry you feel that way, but, honestly, what is happening to Harry is fairly natural, if a little rushed. Harry is going through what I like to call accelerated puberty, meaning it starts very quickly and ends fairly quickly. This was actually the last chapter that will feature the memory/dream sequence scene so you don't have much to worry about anyways.

And no, Neville is not a replacement for Ron. If that were the case, I wouldn't have added Terry and Blaize to Harry's group of friends.

NARUHAREM FOREVA: The dream sequence involving Perenelle was a combination of memory and a teenagers wet dream. Basically, the part where Harry was with Nicolas Flamel was a memory, and sometime after that was not. However, I am leaving it up to you to decide how much of the 'sexy Perenelle' scene was a dream and how much was memory.

kroz phantomville: How dramatic did you want it? Just so you know, the lawsuit issue was nothing more than a subplot. It held no true relevance to the story, so there is no real reason for me to focus on it beyond closing the plot as realistically as possible.

shadowz101: No he wouldn't. First of all, Harry did not know Sirius was not the Secret Keeper. He was not around when Lily cast the Fidelius Charm, therefore, he has no clue who the Secret Keeper is. Secondly, Harry has met all four of the Marauders at some point in his life, and none of them gave any indication of being a spy. If they had, Pettigrew would have been ousted very easily. As far as Harry knows, Sirius Black was guilty of betraying his parents and that's that.

ImaDenarianLordX: While I understand where you are coming from, I don't really understand how you can think I'm moving fast with Harry's relationships. Right now, all we have some moments of cute fluff and Harry's growing attraction to the girls in his group. Nothing more. I think I explicitly stated in this chapter that even if he likes one or more of the girls in his group, Harry is not going to act on his feelings because he does not believe romance is important for a 12 year old boy.

serialkeller: I don't know how you can say that. Occlumency does not keep you from feeling emotions or showing them. It clears your mind and allows you to detect mental intrusions. Now, the act of 'clearing the mind' helps keep your emotions in control and keeps you from being too overt with your feelings, but it's not a sure fire way to yourself from acting like nothing is wrong. If it were, then Snape would have never lost his cool whenever Harry did something he did not like. He IS an Occlumency master with enough skills that not even Voldemort can penetrate his mind, you know.

Futon Lord: Maybe you're right, but then, Harry doesn't know that, does he? YOU know that eventually the Firebolt will come out and completely beat the Nimbus 2001, but YOU also have the benefit of having read the original 7 books. Harry does not have that beneficial knowledge, nor is he a seer. Right now, Harry Potter knows that endorsing the Nimbus 2001 is the best way to earn a lot of money, therefore, that is what he's going to do.

And don't blame Daphne for my bad grammar. It's not really her fault.

amoghtalwar: Selene will not be making a come back in this story, but she will be coming back in the 4th book. As I said, I only introduced her character in book 2 because it was the only feasible time to do so. The rest of your questions I can't answer, as I do not give away spoilers, especially ones that important.

totalsolution: Are you forgetting that Harry is already in a close physical relationship with another girl? Namely, Lisa? Also, Harry spent almost an entire summer dealing with Selene trying to seduce him. Do you not think he would get desensitized to such an act very quickly? The fact of the matter is, Harry has already gotten used to physical contact with females by this point in time, so him initiating the contact in this instance shouldn't be very hard to believe.

Concluding Statements:

A few people how they felt this chapter was really just following canon events. I assume the reason for this is because of the Herbology lesson.

Yes. I will admit it. This chapter followed a canon event, but did anyone actually realize why? Aside from this chapter just being a set up chapter to show how Harry will be interacting with various characters like Lockhart, it was also because this particular event in canon cannot be changed simply because Harry has eidetic memory. Things like class scheduling are things that remain canon because nothing Harry does can change that unless he decides to try and convince the teachers that there should be a change in schedules and FIY, there is no reason for him to do that.

This being said, I can assure you that most chapters will not follow standard canon. We already have several difference. For example, instead of having detention with Lockhart, Harry will have detention with Snape. This will also have a large consequence on the storyline, though I won't tell you what. I prefer letting you guys guess.

Harry Potter

So, I've gotten a few comments from people saying how they wished I would focus on only one of my stories. Most of these people want me to focus on Harry Potter.

While I can understand your desire to see more chapters for your favorite story (at least, your favorite that I write) to come out, I hope you all understand why that's just not feasible.

The simple fact is that a lot of people would get angry if I stopped writing all of my stories except one for however long it took me to finish. You also have to account for just how long many of these stories would go un-updated. I suspect, that if I managed to put a chapter out each week, I would be able to finish the Heir of Slytherin within the next 4 months. That's 4 months where none of my other stories would get updated, leaving a lot of angry readers who will PM asking me to update so and so story. I've had this happen before with one of my stories, and it got very annoying very fast. Imagine what would happen if I got PMs for ALL of my stories but one.

Another reason I won't just update one story is because my muse does not work like that. Normally, when I first start writing a fanfic, I will always have an overflow of ideas for just that one story. This is normally why you'll see me update a new fic with so many chapters before they taper off. After that, the ideas begin to fizzle out or my motivation begins leaving and I'm no longer able to write for just that story anymore. If I decided to stick with one fic and stubbornly refuse to write for anything, eventually, I would come to a point where I have no idea what to write for this fic I am so fixated on. You guys would end up waiting months before I ever updated again, because while my muse is telling me to write for this story, I am not listening as I try to force words onto a page for a story they do not want to come out for. In other words, you the story you asked for would take several times longer to get completed than if I were to write for all of my stories.

That being said, the next story I have decided to work on is Ashikabi no Shinobi, since so many people have asked me to update that one. Oh. And you will be pleased to know I have updated Harry Potter and the Heir of Slytherin.

Tomorrow.

Chapter 12 of my HP story will be posted tomorrow. I suppose this is something to be excited about, yes? Yes. Something to be very excited about. And to commemorate this event, I decided to show something interesting I found on youtube about Harry Potter.

You know, so you would have something more interesting to see then plain old text.

Too hot...

Ugh, I seriously need to get a new fricken job. I don't know how many of you work retail, and I have no clue how many of you retail workers work at a grocery store, but working as a courtesy clerk for a place like Safeway absolutely sucks. Especially when you have to push carts in 110 degree weather. Just thinking about it makes me feel like I'm melting.

Progress is being made with chapter 12. I suspect that, like always, the next chapter will be up by Friday.

Next story?

You all know that right now I am working on writing the next chapter to my Harry Potter story, but what story do you guys think I should work on after that? I can't decide as there are a number of people who want me to work on different stories, and really, I could probably crank out a chapter for any one of them right now.

Highschool DxD

I don't know how many of you follow Highschool DxD, an erotic light novel with loads of fanservice that has been turned into both a manga and an anime, but the second season of it was supposed to start airing in Japan yesterday, according to reports.

I have no clue when it will come out in with subtitles, but I imagine that by the time they get out all of the anime's, someone will have started by then.

On a side note, I've begun working on chapter 12 of HPatHoS, so you guys will have something to look forward to.

Twin Fangs of Chaotic Insight

So someone asked me an interesting question today. Or maybe it was yesterday and I just noticed it today. In any case, I decided to give them an answer.

The question was: How exactly has Harry not gotten into trouble for all his magic outside of school?

My answer for this is that the trace is something of a JK Rowling plot hole. She claims that the trace is something on an underage witch or wizards wand, then goes off and makes it so that any magic used around Harry is detected.

To me, when someone says there is a trace on a wand, it means it is just on that wand and can only detect magic being used by that wand. If that specific wand is not being used to cast magic then no one is going to detect the unlawful use of it.

Consequently, this also means that if Dobby used magic near the wand, or if Harry used wandless magic, the Ministry would not know about it. Anyways, I hope this helps.

Sekirei Q&A

Before I begin the Question and Answer, I would like to say something, metaphorically speaking because I'm not actually talking, I'm writing. Anyways, first, while I do appreciate the support you guys have given me when mentioning how you like my work as opposed to Arthain's The Ninth Sekirei Pillar, I don't want you guys bashing his work because of something I said. What I wrote in my little anecdote at the end was purely my own thoughts and feelings. I've read his story and honestly believe it is better than my own. I won't go into details, since I would have to spend several thousand words to do so, but this was simply my own belief that his story is better and more original than what I have, since my story is essentially a godlike Naruto being copy and pasted in Minato Sahashi's place.

I also found it kind of amusing when people mentioned how Arthain's Naruto was more of a Gary stu than mine. I am going to be honest here. The Naruto in my story is for all intents and purposes a God, and not like Pein's 'I am god' spiel, but an actual God. I'll reveal more later on, but suffice to say my Naruto is so far above everyone else in this story that if he were to get directly involved in the Sekirei Plan, he would stomp a mud hole in everyone's ass and leave them a broken mess of flesh and blood that could hardly be considered human.

Why do you think I haven't had him get involved in much of the fighting aside from the beginning where his body is out of shape from disuse?

Now, onto the Q&A!

A Simple Fool: I think you are forgetting something when I mentioned that Naruto has created harems in the past. He did not become a cold and heartless bastard right after the Fourth Great Shinobi War. I mentioned before that he had wandered the world trying to bring about peace for several thousand years BEFORE he gave up and became an empty shell of a person. In fact, he has only been an emotionless husk incapable of truly feeling human emotions for the past 1,600 years or so. That leaves around 4,000 or so years where he was NOT an emotionless human being. If you think along those lines, Naruto could have very easily created several harems in his lifetime.

As for the three goddesses, I actually plan on giving him a history with them. I won't reveal much because I don't like spoilers, but I will tell you they are not actually goddesses.

There is also another reason I brought this up, but I'm going to leave it to you guys to figure out why. It wouldn't be fair if I just gave you all the answers. Ufufufu.

shuriken200: Yes and yes. There will be a sex scenes, multiple, but not for a while, and yes, there will be a big reveal about Naruto's immortality. I won't tell you when or how, but it should be obvious that there will eventually be one since his immortality is a driving point for my story.

Arthain: No, I definitely meant fleas. Damn bugs are annoying, but warm. Kidding. Anyways, I thought about revealing Naruto's history here, or at least a bit of it, but it didn't really feel right. One thing you must know about Naruto is that he's stubborn. Canon Naruto is ridiculously stubborn and my Naruto has a couple thousand years to be set in his ways. His stubbornness knows no bounds. He's not going to just cave and tell Miya something because she wants to know. This secret has been one he's kept for a long time, so long that the act of keeping it a secret is pretty much an ingrained habit, and there are actually a number of reasons for that, which will be revealed in time. Suffice to say, there will eventually be this big reveal where everyone learns that Naruto is immortal, but it won't be for a while.

Casard: You're surprisingly polite for someone who says they're very blunt. Lol. Honestly, don't worry about whether you sound blunt or not. If I can take people flaming my work, then I can easily accept your constructive review and use it to better my writing.

As to things you feel should have been mentioned, I actually have a few reasons for not revealing. To the first, the answer is rather easy.

Tsukiumi has not said anything about the giant head cleaver people call a sword because she was honestly just too preoccupied by everything that happened to focus on it. She was chased all across Shinto Teito, captured, rescued by the person who is destined to be her Ashikabi, accidentally 'kills' her Ashikabi, watches him 'rise up from the grave' so to speak and then level fives one of the Sekirei chasing her, followed by her passing out from exhaustion after deciding to let him wing her and finally gaining her wings upon waking up. The fact that he was wielding a large ass sword was simply not on her mind at the time, and by the time she came to, the sword was pretty much forgotten. I believe the term overwhelmed fits her feelings here perfectly.

Matsu's reason is even easier to answer. She saw how Naruto reacted when Miya spied on him and she knows how zealously he keeps his secrets. She's not going to mention anything about his weapons or his fight with Mutsu, nor is she going to mention it unless he talks first.

Miya's sort of in the same boat as Matsu. Having already been on the receiving end of his anger, she's not going to push him. She may try to gently coax the answers out of him, but if he doesn't want to talk about something, she's not going to try and force him to.

Now your second issue, the one with the 'dark silhouette'. Naruto actually does know about it. I'm simply not revealing it until I feel the time is right. Don't worry, when I reveal it, you'll know what it is and why I kept it a secret until then.

Tying your third issue and the last one together, I will let you know what happened to Kurama when I give the big reveal on Naruto's past. Eventually, you will learn everything that happened in the Fourth Great War. How Naruto gained his immortality, whether or not Kurama is still a part of Naruto, all will be revealed in time. I can't say how many chapters it will be until then, because I honestly don't know. There is a very specific arc that needs to happen before I have Naruto reveal his past to the members of Maison Izumo, and I don't know how many chapters that will be.

Finally, Kazehana will play an important roll in the story. I won't be giving any spoilers, but I will tell you that much.

Concluding Statements:

A lot of people have noticed that I changed my name from Pokemaster12 to The Engulfing Silence. I have received upwards of 32 PMs asking me about this, so I decided that rather than answer each PM individually, I would answer them all here.

Yes, I did change my name. The reason for this was actually very simple. I felt it was time for a change, as I have never written a Pokemon story before.

When I first made this profile, I was in the Pokemon phase where I still enjoyed playing the gameboy Pokemon games and actually watched the anime and read the manga. That was why I picked the name in the first place.

I have not read or watched or played Pokemon for 4 years now. There was really no reason for me to be Pokemaster12 when I don't have much to do with Pokemon these days.

Now playing! Chapter 26 of Ashikabi no Shinobi!

This is just a reminder that chapter 26 has been posted.

Or at least it normally would be, but because I'm a rather talkative fellow, I have decided to make this a bit more... um... what's the word I'm looking for? Intimate? No. Intensive? Nuh uh. Intrepid? I don't think that's a very pleasant word.

Well, why don't we just go with friendly? Yes, friendly.

And now that my tangent has ended, I wanted to say that I hope you all had an awesome 4th of July... at least, I hope you had an awesome 4th of July if you live in America, since I don't think any other countries celebrate American independence day.

Anyways, I hope you guys got to watch lots of fireworks and expwosions... erm... explosions. Sorry, I had a Sayuri moment there.

The home stretch... sort of.

It's Thursday, and for those of you who know me, you should know what that means. Tomorrow, chapter 26 of Ashikabi no Shinobi will be posted and ready for you too read. Let us all pray to the log and hope this chapter will be even more awesome than any of my previous ones.

And now that all this boring news is out of the way, do any of you like to cosplay? I only ask because I recently ordered a super awesome Link costume... or, well, part of a Link costume. I'll have to make some parts, but I think I can do it even though I have no costume making abilities.

Yeah, I know. I'm a useless costume maker. Go on, laugh it up. Have a joke at my expense. I don't mind.

Anyways, as I was saying, I ordered this Link costume, it hasn't come in yet, but it's pretty damn awesome. I've never really cosplayed much before. My first experience was actually my first comicon that I went to with my at the time girlfriend around 3 years ago. It was pretty fun, we dressed as Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed, which was pretty fun.

I think I might still have pictures somewhere, maybe.

Ever since than I've been really into cosplaying. I have a number of costumes; Cloud from Advent Children, Squall Lionheart from Final Fantasy 8 and Dante from Devil May Cry 3. My Link costume still hasn't come in yet, but hopefully it will in a few weeks.

So, any of you cosplay fanatics have an awesome costume you'd like to share with us?

Joe Lawyer

This is in response to a review who came too late for me to answer in my Q&A.

In response to Joe Lawyer's review about how he felt Harry was being too whiny about what he did to Draco Malfoy and rolled over to Dumbledore's decision to easily.

To the first, I will give you the rather simple answer that I guess many of you may not have realized. The reason why Harry had his little drama episode was not necessarily because of what he did, but because his friends saw it. This is the biggest reason he felt so guilty about his actions against Draco. It's an honest response that anyone would have if they saw their friends looking at them in fear after they committed an act of violence and brutality.

Second, if you read the first chapter, then you would know that Harry's greatest fear is becoming like Voldemort. What he did to Draco was something he could easily imagine Voldemort doing to someone he didn't like. His lack of self control and enjoyment of the violence he committed upon Draco honestly frightens him because he feels it makes him similar to the man who took his parents away.

As for why Harry accepted the decision so easily. One of the reasons is because he knows that what he did was wrong, regardless of what Draco had done. Master Wei had taught him that violence was only to be used in self defense, yet here he was, using violence when it wasn't needed and enjoying it. He pretty much disregarded one of his master's principles.

As to his other reason, well, you'll just have to wait and see.

I know you enjoy Gary-stu Harry stories, or at least stories where Harry can bull doze through most of his problems with relative ease and is the most suave, intelligent and sophisticated man you will ever meet, but please try to remember, this is not a Gary-stu Harry fic, despite what some people may say or think.

Hot!

Do any of you live in Arizona? Yes? No? Gods I hope not. I don't know what the weather is like where you guys live, but goddamn is it hot out here! Just today was like 110 degrees or something, not to mention all the humidity we had today because it's monsoon season.

You know what I think the worst part of this is? We got the humidity without the monsoon. Not an ounce of rain and every time I stepped outside I felt like I was walking around in Florida... if Florida had 110 degree weather on top of being humid as hell.

And now that I am done complaining, you should all know that I am still writing and cranking out words for the next chapter of Ashikabi no Shinobi.

Thank you.

A little late

This is a little bit late. I do apologize for that but I woke up later than usual this morning and had to leave if I wanted to hit the gym before work.

I also didn't have much to say... or write, so it's not like there's anything important here other than the knowledge that the next chapter to Ashikabi no Shinobi is coming along well.

On a side note, I did not get the job I applied for at State Farm. I managed to get the second interview but I guess they didn't like me or something. I got an email a while ago stating that I and I quote 'lack the necessary qualifications' they wanted.

Naturally, I was kinda pissed. There are people working in the same position I applied for that don't even have a bachelors degree, yet they get the job and I apparently 'lack the necessary qualifications'? What the fuck? It's a call center. You receive calls and type down information into a computer.

Anyways, I hope you all have a pleasant day.
